on barren, rocky, hills I spend some
days.
He always knows what is
the best for me –
so into darkness He will sometimes
lead.
When He leads from sunshine into the night –
I gaze at Him so I don't
faint with fright.
Whether He leads in bright or dismal land –
I trust Him and He
always holds my hand.
Because all of my weakness He knows -
He leads me in the dark so
I can grow.
When I thank Him for trials and look above
His eyes meet mine -and they are filled
with Love.
To Still Waters He does
not always lead -
then stormy tempests blow me like a
reed
Yet, never will He let me blow from
Him -
the King of Love who saved my soul from
Sin.
He says, as He once said
on Galilee -
"Step out in faith
and, trusting, come to Me.
And though that's what I really want to do –
just like Peter, I often
fail Him too.
Yet I know His goodness and mercy
all of my life will
surely follow me.
Then, when I sleep for the last time on earth
I'll be with Christ who
Lives and gave me Birth.
